Does my clock need to be right?

Yes. The clock on your phone must be accurate, otherwise the app will not open doors. So do not set the time by hand; let your phone obtain the time automatically.

Why the time matters so much

Every opening command the app sends to a door is valid only for a brief moment. If your phone’s clock is more than 30 seconds fast or slow, the door treats the command as expired and stays closed. This protects against an intercepted command being used again later.

The app checks on start and on sign-in whether your clock is clearly off and then shows you a notice.

We cannot support a clock set by hand

Some people deliberately set their phone’s clock a few minutes fast or slow. This does not work with Secure Digital Storage. For security reasons there is no exception and no setting in the app for it. The only solution is your phone’s automatic time setting.

Turning on automatic time

On an iPhone: open “Settings” → “General” → “Date & Time” and turn on “Set Automatically”.

On Android: open “Settings” and look for “Date & time”, depending on the manufacturer under “System” or “General management”. Turn on “Set time automatically”; on some devices the option is called “Automatic date and time”.

Then restart the app.
