About the app

Can I give others access?

At many sites, yes. As the holder of the rental agreement you can there share access to your unit with other people, for example family members, employees or moving helpers. The person does not need a contract of their own.

Whether and how sharing is possible at your site depends on the equipment installed there and on your provider. If the app does not offer you the function, it is not available at your site; ask your provider in that case.

You enter the person’s e-mail address in the app. The person installs Secure Digital Storage, signs in with exactly this e-mail address and then sees your unit and the doors on the way to it. The access applies within the scope of your contract, but you can also limit it to a period from the outset, for example the duration of a move.

Wherever sharing is possible, it always works by e-mail address. As an extra, your provider can enable sharing by link: you create a link in the app and pass it on. The link is valid only for a limited time and suits one-off visits, for example a delivery. Because a link gets into the wrong hands more easily than access tied to an e-mail address, some providers switch this function off for security reasons.

  • Shared access ends at the latest with your contract. You can end it at any time before that.
  • You remain responsible for what happens with your access. Share it only with people you trust.
  • The other person needs a phone that supports the app, see Which phones are supported?.

Access shared with you works the same way round: if someone has shared their unit with you, sign in with the e-mail address that person entered.
